Voices of History, Japan

My journey to Japan exposed me to obscured historical narratives and ongoing efforts to bring them to light. In Hokkaido, we witnessed excavation sites of forced labor victims. We listened to one of the monk's lectures about the history of innocent deaths during forced labor. A monk, Donohira, deeply involved in these efforts, enlightened us about the painful history and his mission to return the remains to their families. His simple act of kindness and his efforts to spread awareness of heartrending history were undoubtedly meaningful.
